The value of a Mortgage Broker

Martin Lewis, the Money Saving Expert, has recently said ‘mortgage broker is worth their weight in gold’ and with that comment, we couldn’t agree more.

Around 1.8 million fixed deals are scheduled to end next year and with the current trend of interest rates rising, homeowners could be faced with incredibly higher rates than they were previously on.

Navigating through the mortgage market can be quite challenging, never mind when mortgage providers temporarily withdraw some of their products due to the current economic conditions.

A mortgage broker like ourselves can relieve the stress of finding a mortgage product and at Amplo Mortgages, we have your best interest at the heart of everything that we do.

What are the benefits of using a mortgage broker?

Knowledge and Experience – A mortgage broker will have extensive knowledge on mortgages and if you believe that your situation is too complicated, it may not be for a mortgage broker as they will have more experience and knowledge. Your situation may be something that they deal with everyday, recently received training on or they would be able to ask a lender for their opinion on.

Whole of Market Broker – Many independent mortgage brokers will have access to the whole of market. What this means is that they are not tied to a specific lender and have access to number of lenders. Therefore, they will be able to match your requirements to the lender that matches the client’s requirements best at the most competitive rate.

Whereas if you were to approach a bank directly, they will find you a mortgage within their product range. This doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the cheapest rate available.

Supporting documents – At times, it can be critical to secure your mortgage offer in a timely matter. For example, if you’re looking to buy a property quickly or trying to secure a rate before any market changes such as the Bank of England base rate announcements.

Therefore, submitting your supporting documents will need to be done correctly and failing to meet the lender’s checks can cause delays. However using a broker, they will be able to inform you about what documents are needed and what format they need to be submitted in.

Additionally, they will guide you through the pros and cons and have a thorough understanding of which lenders to approach.

We do more than just source a mortgage

Of course, all mortgage brokers operate differently so we can’t speak about what other brokers do however, at Amplo Mortgages and Financial Solutions we believe we do more than just source you a mortgage product.

As well as finding the right mortgage to meet your requirements, we will also communicate with estate agents, solicitors, lenders and accountants when required to make the process as stress free as possible for you. Our dedicated Process Manager is here to keep an eye on your mortgage process and speak with solicitors, lenders and estate agents to find out where it’s all up to and keep you informed throughout the process.
